The gem I left. If Ching Shih have but baubles to trade, they'll be crushed. They must do something, have some energy they're not telling us. I didn't want to swipe something they'll come gunning for... besides, the ribbon is more romantic a theft.

I prefer the ribbon as well. Gems, though. He said to me on the first night that he had something he though we could make use of. A bluff? I can't say.

He's playing a game. . . I admit I find the prospect of continuing the play not unpleasant. If we can't snag them for allegiance, I don't really have a third choice...

If we can't make an alliance we have to take them out, quickly. Resources aside, he's the most dangerous Prime. I'm sure of that.

He is much more dangerous than Ichibei's, that is certain.

If Ichibei makes us choose, will we give them up for pursuing Ching Shih, when they've offered nothing?

Hmm... hard to say. Chain and I discussed that matter somewhat. He would prefer a more exclusive deal as concerns allegiances, but I don't think it's a dealbreaker at this stage. Trading with other Houses, though, he doesn't have any issue with at all.

All things considered, I'd like to keep them both early on and see where it goes. If Ichibei refuses that outright, that's one thing, but we hold the cards here. Even if he dislikes it, I think Chain will accept that deal in order to get what we have.
